SsangYong Motor have reliably hit 2019 running, following the company’s January unveiling and market implementation of their newest first-rate pick-up model, known locally as the Musso Grand. Arriving on the Maltese islands earlier this month courtesy of SsangYong Malta, the impressive vehicle has already established itself in the eyes of critics, identifying the pick-up model as a truly impressive vehicle in its segment.
The Musso Grand model has benefited from a more modern approach towards its exterior design. While many of the upgrades from the previous model have left the vehicle looking slicker, with its sharp pleasing curves emphasizing this progress, the pick-up model’s real exterior charm comes from its powerful, tough, and muscular stance. The durability and quality of the Musso Grand designs give off the appearance that the vehicle is more than capable and eager of navigating through the harshest of environments.
This newer 2019 Musso Grand model is 31 centimetres longer than its previous counterpart, with a 5.4 meter-long body. The height and wheelbase have also been increased by 1.5 centimetres and 11 centimetres, respectively. The long-bodied vehicle is highlighted by an increased load capacity of 1,262 litters, which enables the Musso Grand to carry up to 700 kilograms on its deck, up by 75 percent from the previous model’s 400 kilograms.
The interior design of the vehicle has undergone an entire remodeling, increasing the level of refinement and contemporary ambiance more akin to a premium SUVs. The newly well-fitted quilted nappa leather seats compliment the spacious natural feel of the vehicle, while still boasting the raw robustness and durability SsangYong admirers have come to expect. When designing the newer model, engineers took the opportunity to improve passenger accessibility and luxurious space within the vehicle, implementing increased legroom and elbowroom in all possible areas.
SsangYong have placed high importance on the safety of both their drivers and passengers through the implementation of their new state-of-the-art technologies on the Musso Grand, including a newly developed ultra-high-tensile quad frame as well as the addition of 6 airbags, curtain airbags and side airbags. The vehicle also features best-in-class 79.2% high-tensile steel, enabling weight reduction and body strengthening, as well as a quad frame made with 1.5-GPa ultra-high-tensile giga steel.
The new 2019 Musso Grand is SsangYong new headliner, boasting an evolution of engineering fused with a progression of vehicle image design and passenger convenience. The enhancements incorporated to the design of the vehicle have pushed the vehicle into a strong market position, enabling it to grander strong critical acclaim, as well as a host of drivers keen to try their hand behind the wheel.
