Husqvarna Motorcycles is excited to reveal the 2024 Norden 901 Expedition, an exceptional evolution of the pioneering Norden 901. The 2024 Norden 901 touring motorbike is designed with utmost precision and perfection to offer improved performance and safety thanks to multiple technical enhancements. Indeed, an incredibly popular touring machine since its introduction in 2021, the 2024 Norden 901 lets all adventure enthusiasts explore the unexplored in their way.
The Norden 901 Expedition motorbike, as its name suggests, will always make you set out for adventures no matter the distance. The touring machine is a combination of the best Husqvarna motorbikes that are famous for their ruggedness and stability. Its astounding looks and bodywork take inspiration from the Husqvarna Motorcycles Rally Machines. Echoing endless capabilities of adventure, the touring motorbike comes with a fuel tank that has a 248+ mile/400+ km range. The Dakar Rally style slimline ergonomics of the motorbike caters to the lower centre of gravity for neutral handling and a manageable seat height while maintaining good ground clearance. Motorsport rigid, the fuel tank is designed to resist hard knocks off-road, and the lower section of the tank protects the rider from road and trail dirt and spray.
The motorbike boasts the sturdiness of a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame that takes the heavy load and thus delivers all-day-long comfort. The frame is designed to provide accurate feedback, ideal offroad performance on the less-travelled tracks, confidence and ease across distance, and agility and light handling around the tightest corners. Amidst being lightweight and compact, the trellis frame can carry luggage, a passenger or both through all the terrains and roads.
As you set out to conquer the adventurous paths, the touring windshield facilitates an endless and untiring riding experience. It deflects the wind around the ride, making the expedition of the Norden 901 touring machine comfortable. The windshield also helps the rider navigate the ride at an increased speed, as the wind wouldn’t be a hindrance. A thoughtful centre air pass controls turbulence on the helmet reducing wind noises and relaxing neck muscles.
Designed based on the competition experience from Husqvarna Motorsport Rally development, the front crawl with its integrated LED headlight standard fog light has a slim profile. There is a daytime running light that encircles the headlight facilitating the visibility of the touring machine in all conditions. The indicators of the motorbike also use LED technology making it handy for safe turning. No matter what time and condition of the day or night it is, the LED headlights and fog lights are prepared to light your path.
To prepare for all the situations that you face during your adventurous ride, the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition touring machine comes with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel. The Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres offer grip on all terrains, and the tubeless design of the wheels makes it lightweight and thus easy to handle and comfortable. The tubeless wheels also reduce the occurrence of flat tyres, and the larger diameter of the wheels caters to easy rolling over rough surfaces.

Providing an intuitive riding experience, the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition touring motorbike comes with individual riding modes that automatically engage the suitable ABS setting. With the four riding modes Street, Rain, Offroad, and Explorer, the motorbike facilitates an easy selection of rides aid instantly as the terrain and weather change.
- Street Mode: It has a direct throttle with traction control settings to match paved surfaces, and Road ABS is engaged. This mode is smooth enough for amateur riders or while travelling in a pavilion yet is dynamic enough to speed along twisting mountain roads and valleys.
- Rain Mode: It comes with a smooth throttle response, reduced peak power, and early traction control intervention ABS, is activated on road level and is especially sensitive.
- Off-Road Mode: It has a smooth throttle response and allows more wheel slip before it activates the traction control. This mode is not lean angle sensitive; the traction control doesn’t interfere when you use a berm to turn, and the anti-wheelie function is not engaged, thus enabling you to lift the front wheel over obstacles. The ABS will automatically switch to off-road so that you don’t have to browse through the menu.
- Explorer Mode: It comes standard on the Norden 901 expedition and gives you direct control over all functions to create your riding mode.
Facilitating easy mastering of the varied terrains and difficult environments, the Norden 901 Expedition touring machine comes with an Easy Shift. It’s quite easy to make the up-and-down changes in the six-speed gearbox with the Easy Shift. A sensor detects when you actuate the gear level and instructs the ECU to match engine parameters for a hassle-free gear change at any RPM or engine load. The Easy Shift enables short shift time and smooth ride, improved rear wheel traction and thus maintains control by keeping full grip of the handles.
The Offroad mode in the Bosch ABS of the motorbike is designed for rough roads that demand different kinds of braking methods. In this mode, the rear wheel ABS is deactivated, and its activation on the front wheel is reduced. The data from the lean angle sensor no longer forms part of the system calculations, and you can effortlessly lock up the rear wheels to help steer into the corners. As the front ABS is said to be less intrusive in this mode, the front brake can be used at full strength on loose surfaces. The Offroad mode of the motorbike facilitates confidence in riding through challenging roads.
You can make use of the cruise control from the handlebar-mounted switches on the clear stretches of the road to take a relaxed ride and witness the beauty of the roads you have chosen. It is also of great help when you don’t want to risk creeping over speed limits. For customisable ergonomics, the aluminium tapered handlebars with six mounting positions provide an adjustment range of 30 mm (front to rear).
The cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) always ensures that your motorbike remains in control. The MTC is lean-angle sensitive and offers seamless interventions. When the system detects that the rear wheel is turning at the wrong speed for the riding situation, throttle input is reduced until the correct level of rear slippage for the selected ride mode and the current angle of lean is reached. In ‘Explore’ mode, you wouldn’t be able to control the level of MTC intervention in the 9 levels of slip adjust. For more consistent acceleration, the system gradually cuts the throttle when it detects the front wheel lift.
You can always pre-plan your adventures with the Norden 901 touring motorbike faultlessly with the aid of the Husqvarna Motorcycles app. It offers downloaded maps that can be saved on your mobile data and add up to 128 waypoints or navigate directly from a GPX file import. The TFT dashboards facilitate the visibility of guidance from the Turn-By-Turn+ navigation and also show important information such as fuel range, water temperature and travel distance.
The connectivity unit in the 2024 Norden 901 facilitates Turn-By-Turn+ navigation, call-in and call-out, and even the selection of music from the rider’s connected smartphone device. Powered by the Husqvarna Motorcycles app, the multi-functional design unit will be of great use throughout your expeditions. It also comes with an optional GPS mount which enables you to easily place your smartphone or a GPS above the dashboard.

Reliable and Trustworthy:
A pair of balancer shafts in the 889 cc, double overhead cam, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-engine delivers increased comfort and reduced vibration. Combined with fineness and manageability, the engine is capable of delivering everything you demand in diverse terrains of travel. Long service intervals of 15000 km and low fuel consumption make the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition impeccable.
To tackle the uneven roads of your adventure, the Husqvarna touring machine comes with brakes with power control. The Bosch ABS-controlled system delivers rapid and precise stopping on all kinds of surfaces. Husqvarna’s collaboration with the J. Juan brings MotoGP-derived technology to the braking system. The pistons in the rear calliper have isolation plates to maintain heat stability so that the brake doesn’t get stressed when you tackle long downhill sections. The Bosch ABS can be deactivated at the rear wheel for advanced riders.
It facilitates stability on harsh roads or when sudden bumps are encountered while allowing for easy handlebar control when riding offroad. Besides, the frame has provisions to allow for the fitment of a high-performance adjustable offroad steering damper.
The Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC) on the touring motorbike maximises rear wheel grip under full acceleration. It prevents rear wheel instability and hopping when downshifting quickly or braking hard into a turn. It is easier to operate because as you open the throttle, the hand effort required on the clutch when changing the gear is reduced. The PASC facilitates less fatigue thus a more comfortable riding experience.
The Husqvarna touring machine features a 6-speed sequential gearbox with a ratio to suit every condition from walking pace to flying highway speeds. Quick and efficient gear shifting is offered by short-shift lever travel, light spring action, and when required, the assistance of the Easy Shift quick shifter. The teeth of the 4th,5th, and 6th gear have been glass bead blasted to provide exceptional reliability.
Destined for Expedition:
The high-strength aluminium skid plate of the touring motorbike is neatly wrapped around the 889-cc twin parallel engine. The incredibly durable skid plate is extended higher at the front and protects the exhaust and the engine. A standard centre stand gives better stability when parked.
Designed ideally for offroad explorations, the 2024 Norden 901 touring motorbike comes with a WP XPLOR suspension front and rear that facilitates easy traverse through rugged terrains. As it is fully adjustable, the rider can create a customised suspension based on their weight, riding ability, chosen terrain, etc. On both suburban and jam-packed paths, the 48 mm fork legs combined with the 240 mm suspension travel on both ends ensure autonomy.
Heated Grips and Seat:
Equipped with heated rider seats and grips, the motorbike is ideal for colder climates and early morning rides. These features are easy to switch on and off via the handlebar-mounted button and come with a three-level adjustment on each end that ensures the right amount of heat during all your expeditions.
The 2024 Norden 901 Expedition touring motorbike comes with a perfectly sized side bag set that integrates well with the bodywork.
