FUNDS RAISED FOR PUTTINU CARES

Famalco Group employees presented a €795 donation to Puttinu Cares to help this charity assist children with cancer.

Rennie Zerafa, the organisation’s co-ordinator, thanked the staff and directors of the Famalco Group. He explained that the money donated to Puttinu Cares makes a positive difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families as they go through this painful experience.

Funds donated to Puttinu Cares are used to improve Mater Dei Hospital’s Rainbow Ward, which is beautifully decorated and equipped with games, TVs, DVD players, and gaming consoles for the children to use while undergoing treatment. Recently, Puttinu Cares acquired three apartments in London to accommodate the families of children who require cancer treatment in UK hospitals. The organisation is now planning to expand this project to provide enough lodgings for all Maltese people, adults and children alike, who require cancer treatment in London hospitals, Zerafa said.
