A delegation from Fruitland Co. Ltd., composed of Company’s Director Mr Hermann Mallia together with Mr. Ryan Muscat, Mr. Noel Ambrogio, and Ms Charmaine Vassallo visited Fruit Logistica between the 3rd and the 5th of February 2016. The German Capital, Berlin, hosts this specialized annual trade show and conference event for the international fruit and vegetable market every year, for visitors to realise their full business potential within the international fresh produce trade. This year, the organizers were delighted to announce the fair’s unprecedented success as 70,000 trade visitors and 2,891 exhibitors from 84 countries, rendered Fruit Logistica 2016 an excellent platform for professional networking.
Mr Hermann Mallia, emphasized that this yearly event is an important business network opportunity to expand the knowledge of this fast perishable commodity industry.

Mr. Ryan Muscat, Fruitland Co. Ltd.’s Finance and Operations Manager, added that this experience served to establish numerous contact points with potential new suppliers from around the globe. Muscat also stated that the Company’s business is set to flourish further throughout the coming months.

This year, the trade visitors chose Genuine Coconut as the winner of the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award. Genuine Coconut is a refreshing coconut water drink produced by World’s Coconut Trading – a Spanish company that uses organically cultivated Thai coconuts to produce its genuine drink. Northern Greens Kitchen Minis tomato from Denmark was chosen as the runner-up, while the red and yellow striped pepper, Enjoya, grown by the Dutch Enterprise Terra Natura International placed third.

For the first time ever, the jury also presented a special award to Stoffels from Belgium for its Automato tomato vending machine – an innovative concept aimed at attracting young customers to buy vegetables through colour and interaction.
