DOMINO’S OPENS THEIR 16,000TH STORE
Dominos, the world-renowned pizza delivery experts, have successfully opened the doors to their 16,000th store as of Monday 4th March, 2019 in Cheektowaga, New York. To commemorate such a remarkable milestone, Domino’s presented $16,000 donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation during the inauguration ceremony.
Domino’s Pizza success story traces its origins back to 1960, when the two Monagham brothers purchased a store in Ypsilanti, Michigan named ‘DomiNicks’ pizza. In the years that followed, the owners adopted a long-term strategy of constant improvement, innovation and customer satisfaction; a philosophy still adhered to within the franchise today. In time, the efforts upholding these principles continually paid off for the American company allowing the franchise to expand its borders, opening stores all around America and internationally. On the 4th September 2017 Domino’s arrived to the Maltese Islands.
The secret ingredient to Domino’s success has been the franchise’s capability to identify new technological opportunities within the market that set them apart from the competition. In the U.S alone, Domino’s generate over 65% of sales through digital channel. As a franchise, Domino’s have developed several innovative menu-ordering platforms in order to simplify and streamline communication whilst maintaining their cost-effectiveness. Based on retail sales, the American franchise has become the largest pizza company in the world.
Striving to continue on their success, over the last 5 years, the pizza chain has doubled down and grown by nearly 50%, shattering a multitude of company records. However, with these record numbers in hand, the franchise by no means intend to put their foot on the brake pedal as they have announced another major American expansion, with plans to add another 2,350 stores in the United States alone by 2028. In order to achieve this future goal, Domino’s are expected to make an investment of between $115 million and $120 million, presenting a unique opportunity for individuals who are keen on the brand.
Domino’s CEO, Ritch Allison proudly stated that “This is an incredible milestone for Domino’s”. “We’ve grown our total global store count by nearly 4,800 stores in the past five years, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to commemorate our 16,000th store in the world, right here in New York.”
